  • Herowarz and Peachy

If you are new and thinking of playing this game, i think i can honestly say id rather point you else where at this point. Ive been pretty patient all this time, through out cbt1 and 2. There was so much potential!! I couldnt wait to play this game again! But now we are here, and im running out of reasons to play. Endgame is just mindless grinding and praying for progression. (unanswered prayers more often than not) The games RNG is **** and it knows that. It constantly taunts you with missed cards filled with shiny items that are inconsistent with the actual item pool. An illusion of hope... Kind of odd how vip3s with 5/6 card picks on EX runs tend to miss more wonder gears than they have obtained... That cant be right can it? I think we can conclude that card flips are statistically incorrect, which the obvious answer has to be... MISSED CARDS ARE A LIE!! They make it seem to appear that a certain items drop rate is higher than it seems! Sometimes the item isnt actually obtainable!! Weve been fooled all along...

The game treats us like idiots with all the random RNG mechanics that go against you. Oh you saw a sidekick card that you missed from that labyrinth run? Maybe you can farm it some more and maybe youll eventually get it right?! Nope. Its a lie. Plenty of people have tried farming them for DAYSS, but nope. Just cant get it. The game just gives you more and more reasons to waste your time. Thats the hook guys. Herowarz is a game designed to waste your time. There are hardly any rewarding aspects. Even if any, they are quickly short lived. Quite surprising honestly for a game the revolves around RNG, although it fails to understand that RNG MUST be rewarding enough to keep you hooked. Casinos have it down to a science. Works bloody well for them doesnt it? Herowarz is the opposite. Oh you got a shiny new epic weapon drop? HA! HERES 2 USELESS SKILL MODS AND A TERRIBLE PREFIX FOR YOUR PLAYSTYLE! YAYY! Its hilarious how they could even ruin the looting aspect. By the time you actually get an item with with decent stats or mods, its more a feeling of relief rather than excitement.

Even upgrading is bloody useless. You spent an hour to farm the materials needed to transform a piece of equipment? Uhh yea heres an additional useless skill! But at least you can +15 it now right? haha... yea you totally can! Go for it! ill wait here. Youre now left with a transformed piece of gear, no better than it was before. Congrats! You just wasted an hour of your life! For those who like obtaining a shiny new weapon, and then upgrading the hell out of it with tons of available options, Herowarz says no. Perhaps let us change the mods to our liking? Nah. Reroll prefixes? Nah. Reroll bonus stats? Nah. You can waste time farming transformation materials, and pray for an additional useful skill though. With odds heavily against you of course! Welcome to Herowarz!

Okay.... But the combat is awesome! And yea it can be pretty fun when you first get into it. But soon youll be forced to use mods that dont fit your play style, or stuck unable to clear story maps because you just dont have the right build capable of doing so. UNLESS!! You happen to play one of the more over powered characters! A tad bit less unforgiving. Oh you dont like playing a certain overpowered character? Well... too bad.. its only gonna get harder. I just dont see the purpose of skill mods. I dont understand what the devs were thinking when they implemented it. Are they supposed to make it possible for more diverse play styles? Clearly not since most builds are absolutely doo doo. Regardless of character, youre most likely going to be forced to play a certain build. Choosing not to will definitely hinder your gaming experience. Playing multiple characters is neither rewarding in the slightest. Its the same dumb RNG taunting you over and over.

Well despite odds ever not in your favor, you happen to hit endgame EX farming! Fun! Now you get to run endless liberation just to play some EX mode! 15-20 mins of grind for every attempt at wonder gear farming! Oh is it your first time trying EX? Ha! Heres some random bull that can instantly kill you! What? Caught you off guard? Obviously you should have known! You can try again after another 15-20 mins of liberation farming! Just gotta keep trying to see what works for you! Well i guess you finally realize you cant do it on your own... Get a carry right? Yeeep now your carry can fight everything for you with double hp mobs! Mess up once and you both die instantly though. Perhaps a 4 person party then!! Ahahahaha.. Did you forget this is Herowarz?
HERES A TON OF FREE LAG! Just barely dodged that boss attack? NOPE. IT HIT YOU. AND IT KILLS YOU. Or uhh.. take random damage from no where! Because lag! YEA! Game is totally skill based right? Gotta totally learn to git gud righttt!?? Yeaaaa learn to dodge stuff that still hits you! Because lag! Fun!

Herowarz is a ship without a rudder headed straight for a bloody lighthouse. (one filled with explosives because why not? sounds like something herowarz would do) A battle between the crew and its passengers. Only that the crew has decided they would rather slow its inevitable collision than to stop and take a moment with its passengers to find a way to change its course. Perhaps its about time we started communicating yea? A lot of us dont want to abandon ship.

IM BORED ENOUGH TO TYPE ALL THIS RATHER THAN TO PLAY THE BLOODY GAME! PLEASE SEND HELP!

I completely agree with this rant.

It says everything this game is doing wrong, but there is time to change it! KOG, listen the community, we don't care that it takes sometime to redo some aspects the game, but we can wait if that brings a more quality gameplay.

This game is financially supported by the community, so KOG, we are your clients and you should give what we want, at least try to. So we can enjoy your game and continue to help it grow.

I'm going to give some suggestions:

    1. Remove Card System - I know the korean version has it, that's the main reason why we have it. They may like it, we don't. As community has spoken so many times everyone thinks that they are rigged. Make it simpler, when you finish a map you get a screen that says the time it took and the rewards you get, forget about damage % and the whole card random flip (both proved on the forums that we don't like them).

    2. Allow Players Do What They Want! - We have this RNG system (if you want to keep it) on gear and we can't even trade our equips with other player, where it maybe would help another player since the mods or something else don't favor our play-style. Let's create a market or something like it. You can't even store your own gear in the locker! What are you afraid of?
Other aspect is what currently some Nagne players are facing. They don't want to use certain skills because when they proc makes them lose damage instead of buffing it, and what you do is reduce the proc of those skills, that's completely the wrong step to make. We don't want them to proc, ever! (at least if the damage is not changed) Why don't you allow to disable/enable the skills we want, specially the left click abilities?

    3. High Amount of Restraints on Character Customisation - Besides not allowing players to have the mods they want on equips, there are so many other things that you block us from doing even if we want to. Starting of by titles being character based, it makes no sense why they aren't account based,i was a founder of this game, and the game forced me to pick a character to place that title on a character, and stay there forever. That's completely wrong, why can't I show the community that I was a founder of this game, in every character I play?! The same goes to mounts, why i'm forced to have a mount locked on a character? Why can't it be account based!
Now the main one, CHARACTER OUTFITS. Let's talk from the beginning, on the founders pack it was said that we could use the outfit they gave us as reward of the founders on any character as long as it matched the outfit size. At the moment is bound to a character because of the mods that were rolled on the identification of the costume. Which leads to the aspect that the community hates. The costumes having a skill enhance on every piece makes you wear the pieces that enhances the skills you want and not letting you create your own look, what forces you to sometimes look like a foul (at the moment, most of us don't care about the enhances, since it's way better to not look like a foul). They should be removed and remove the bound to the character.

    To be continued...

      bloody hell, true dat +1
i only log on and do dailies these days,
they made the loot super rng but failed to balance it out with insane drop rates (D3,Poe and most arpg's have those insane drop rates, learn from that)

as i kept reading, i pictured a angry peach transform into an angry Australian peach XD

The Card loot system is a insane Illusion. All Drops are predefnined from the possible item Pool with chances and it dosnt matter what card you click at all. Its stupid yes.

My main Problem with this game is why is Single Player so much more easy and rewarding than Multiplayer. No one does Ex Pahnteon groups no one does even Hard Liberation in groups. there is just no Reason and on top of it the Game gets harder ? Please who ever designed that please fire him. Make it so that you get a Buff when playing together full group should get more exp and more loot even , maybe one loot card more.
This is supposed to be a Multiplayer Game please try to design content that works better is more Rewarding when playing together not the other way around. Alot more stupid design aspects Dept upgrading gear but stats do not raise? Why i cannot chose the Mod i want when i transform ? Why is there Mods that make skills just plain weaker ? Why i get Exp as reward when i max level and max skillpoints ? Why bosses Spawn and stand in a Portal and one missclick leads to lost boss or loot ?

So many stupid design flaws that would be ultra easy to fix,

tl;dr summary of each paragraph from that wall of text:

¶1: new players don't play this game; it's an endless rng grind where the drop rates of things you want are -99%; basically impossible to get

¶2: you can see lab sidekick contracts in lab but you'll never actually get them; when you finally get that epic equipment piece it'll have skill mods that you'd never want to use

¶3: upgrading to transform is useless because you'll get a skill mod you don't want or even a mod that will ruin your playstyle; there is no way to reroll prefixes, bonus stats, or skill mods in this game

¶4: gameplay for the game is fun; everything else is rng hell

¶5: you can't farm extreme without spending 15-20 minutes in liberation hard mode farming diver codes; if you die in extreme you lose all those codes and have to refarm them before you try again

¶6: players want less rng and better drop rates for sidekicks (probably wonder gears too), pls respond to this point kog

I'm bored too, everyone is asleep right now lol. Totally agree with low drop rates and rng everything making the game a lot more tedious rather than fun and rewarding though. I wouldn't mind the low drop rate for wonder gears if I didn't have to spend 15-20 minutes in liberation just to do an extreme run that takes me 2-3 minutes. Gave up on lab sidekicks long ago. I don't even see them in the card results.

It seems like all these "content walls" (limited daily rewards, diver code requirements for extreme) to slow down player progress is because there's basically nothing to do after farming to depth cap? And they might be removed/decreased after there is more endgame content. The current depth of rares and epics from player training and liberation being raised is an example of this. It's extremely easy to get past the 170 depth and 190 depth wall since the latest patch. Compared to getting to 220 depth right now from the 210 depth from previous patches, 220 depth is much more tedious due to diver code requirements. I'm sure by the time the depth cap is 230+, 220 depth would be super easy to achieve. Not that it makes the rng any better though.

Bossfight design in Ex Phanteon needs a overhaul too most of tham dpend on Random or if you have a good Movment skill. I win sometimes because iam lucky and the Soundwaves or Posionwaves in Hatchery have a Muster i can acctually evade to a save spot but sometimes thats not possible at all. Because of Random. There should be allways a Option to evade even when you playing Derrick or another slowbie.

They must really do something about skills and mods. It limits player satisfaction and fun. This game will be x999 enjoyable if you can build your skills according to your playstyle.

They can solve this without letting people buy 150+ Depth gears for their lower leveled characters by actually making
                more level requirements.
As of right now, literally every equip endgame is all Lv. 70.

If they add more Lv. requirements such as Wonder Gear as an example, you have to be
Lv. 200 and also need at least 210 Depth to equip them.

So if you didn't meet those requirements, then it could look something like this on Wonder Gears in red text.
                REQ.
                Level: 200
                Depth: 210 or higher
This way they can make everything tradeable, but allow them to avoid these from causing
other players from reaching endgame on another character by being funded to buy all the gear and equipping them at Lv.70

Also, with this change, they can remove the Diveing system since it would be useless, and wouldn't want people to Dive their
gears to endgame with 120~160+ Depth Gears too.

OR, if they keep the Diving system, maybe they could had Lv. requirements to even use the Diving equip material too.
But making these tradeable will help people a lot.

P.S: Since we all know NA is aiming to be a completely different version than KR.
Then let this change happen, instead of "Wrapping Items" in the Venus Shop like KR.
It will only cause players to complain about P2W even more by saying:

"This game is pay2win cause I can't buy a wrapping scroll to make this gear tradeable for the market."
                ^To make pennies

Thus, is going to drive this game down to a Tree of Savior level of bad.
Yes, 2 different games, but Tree of Savior turned out to be a pretty big disappointment
and I feel like that game has a much lower life span than it should have.
Even in KR, ToS is pretty dead already, and the game has only been out for what? a year? a year and a half?

KOG should be glad HeroWarz isn't on Steam yet, even though it would be nice.
It would end up like this, except not 10k reviews since HeroWarz's player base isn't that high atm.

well the tree of saviors score was like that cause the servers didnt even work for months, there was an INSANE amount of bots and you already had to grind as early as 1 hour into the game. that game had nothing going for it at all + all the founder buyers got scammed on cause they made that same pack 50 % cheaper 1 week before the game.

Their prices in cash shop are also ridiculous, similar to HW's Platinum boxes.
Like, literally almost $20 just for hair.
Their their Tokens (aka VIP) is around $20 compared to HW's $14 VIP.

There are quite a bit of other stuff.
But yeah, I been playing ToS since iCBT2 and quit about 3 months ago.
HOWEVER, their VIP was tradeable though, and was cheap for quite a bit like 400k at first
                  since the economy was 'young'.

But lets not keep too Off-Topic with Tree of Savior.

I really want to highlight the bold line first because that is actually spot on. I should feel happy to get another epic. But I'm not. More thought process more is "I hope this one is an actual upgrade." Now compare that to marvel heroes another arpg I play a lot. Now unique gear is comparable to our epics. The game is 3 years old now so its not quite a fair comparrison but I played it 1 year in and back then you could farm for a unique in about 10 minutes give or take. The thing unique gear always had the same stats and skill rolls on it. It just rolled the number. So it was +1 to x skill but it could roll up to +5 for example. Well because of this every unique drop was exciting because it might be an actual upgrade, and I can wear even the badly rolled uniques and it won't hurt my build, only just enhance it less than a good one would.

And right there is the problem. The mods can actually hurt or drastically change our build. If you have something like that you need to be able to switch them relatively easily. If we could transfer mods between gear and just have to look for good blue stats on that gear I know I would have more fun. I would be excited hoping the blue stats roll crit chance or attack speed or whatever I wanted and knowing I could easily throw the mods on. ARPGs are about rng based gear drops yes. But if you don't have a decently high drop rate(and I would call the epic chance of PT and Lib low once you are done with dailies) and a way to modify BUILD CHANGING MODS then it is just not fun. If builds and characters weren't so heavily reliant on mods this wouldn't be as big of a problem as it is. But they are and it is.

KOG you need to give us a way to change around mod with ease. And I don't mean throw all the mods on one epic gear to another epic gear. No I mean if I want a mod from a purple onto a damn wonder gear I should be able to do that. I should be able to select one or multiple from one gear to put on another and choose which things get overridden. Hell the prefixes should be the same way too. At this point if you want a successful game you need to let the player base be able to make builds. Right now I can't theory craft a fun or unique build because its all up to the mods, and that is something arpgs(to me) have always done well. Being able to look at a skill tree and then say "Hey I think I could do something fun if I grab x y z and use a b c gear for some cool interactions." If you don't do this I don't see the game holding its player base.

Edit: I'd also like to say I really don't understand why KOG literally lowered the pace of the game. I keep watching KR videos and the games are night and day. Maybe some people like slower? I mean aside from fighting games and shooters though I've never heard of any one asking to slow down how fast a game plays. Faster play typically tends to be more entertaining.

It's not just Nagne that has skill problems.Derrick's counter doesn't drop axes when he's using Axe Frenzy, and can be a complete waste of a skill if you go for that build. KOG honestly just needs to give us a skill tree system and switch all the skill mods to 8% damage enhancements.

I'm sick and tired of having to put trashy equips on at the end of every EX run, just so I potentially can get drops with higher depth. I'm sick and tired of farming hard liberation. It's not even hard, it's the simplest thing in the world, and the only thing beneficial I get from it is diver codes, and the very occasional phantom sidekick contract - which I don't even want at this point.

Like Peachy said, I don't really want to jump ship either, but at this point, I might end up doing it. I have a higher chance of winning the lottery than I do getting the perfect set of wonder equips and sidekicks. I've done fifty successful runs, and missed every single drop but one because of how rigged the system is. I personally farmed like 95% of my diver codes too.

As for the whole Nagne's Lion Strike/Blade Wind/Thousand Letters thing, those skills serve no purpose, do no damage, STOP YOUR MANA REGEN, bait newbies, destroy builds and are all in all a complete waste of space. Disabling them is an understatement, they literally need to be removed from the game or have their damage increased by a factor of 10, since that's literally how much you lose from sword of nine being cancelled by one of them anyways.

After all these rants, are they really still not listening to the community?! I say we all boycott this game! like everybody should just stop playing and see how its gonna work out for them. Im tired of endless grinding for a piece of useless equipment. Imagine going through all of the endless time grinding on EX runs and finally get a wonder and end up getting a ****** RNG mods and prefix. Ughhh! I just can't deal with this anymore...

                      Don't forget Flame Twister.
I currently have that on a Head piece that I can't replace yet, since I haven't gotten any new ones with the same Depth or Higher.

                      Flame Twister is so terrible.
The flame damage at the end is NOT worth the slow speed.
and last night I had issues doing Bari due to her showing up at terrible times during my Twister and not being able to leap out in time.
Normally I wouldn't even need to leap out, I could just move out of the way with Twister's normal speed.

I know exactly what you mean, any time I see flame twister, I use it to dive instead of putting it on. I'd rather take my chances because of how bad the skill is. Same goes for hoop on Nagne.

Put in old gear, new gear and a few of the purple dusts from divers. Pray to RNGesus twice, because you need 50% to pass, then you need to roll on the higher end of the depth range (it'll always go up if it passes, but not necessarily by all that much.)

All i can do is agree with everything said above. Im not even max depth yet and im already slowly loosing my interest in this game. Like c'mon, the amout of times i had a cool, strong and enjoyable build that i had to replace for depth is too ****ing high. It pisses me off how i can't even modify skills in the way i want because everything is random in this bloody game. Drop, mods, even enemies are random-

Don't worry about any builds til your Depth is maxed.
                        Then worry about skill mods.

I don't worry about anything because i won't get any mod set i want anyway xD
If i get any item with good set mod, lets say weapon for example, it's usually like 4x worse dmg wise than my current one. So i doubt i will ever get anything i want

While this is the commonly accepted practice, I think it's stupid that we have to resort to it.

Here are some of the problems I've had so far with the game (Sorry if they were mentioned previously, I only read what Peachy wrote):

This is the first MMORPG I've played where level doesn't matter
This is going to be entirely confusing to any newcomer as they're going to be lead under the misconception that their character level determines their strength, when in fact, it's this odd "Depth" mechanic. I understand trying to be unique from other MMO's, but this is a strange approach. A benefit to this feature (and perhaps the only one I could see) is that depth could be used to prevent undergeared players from participating in particular dungeons. In the case of Liberation, this is entirely false. The strength I had at 170 depth was no different from that of 160 depth. It was an entirely unnecesarry requirement and was frustrating to the players. It's just odd to me

The Sky Villa bosses (Previously Pantheon I believe) must be fought to absolute perfection or else ggwp
Peachy touched on this, and I couldn't agree more. I'm all for difficulty in my video games - especially when accolades are given. Whether it be a title, a costume piece, medal, or shoutout in the chat, it's nice to know that I performed a task that would be considered difficult to many. However, difficult is not to be confused with virtually impossible. Ive tried an EX boss, Hera to be exact, and I couldn't even make it too Hera herself. I got to the mini-boss prior, the paperbag mask thing, and was struck with a meteor for 8.1k of my HP. Unfortunately, I was not at full HP and lost, but I imagined that if a single mob can do that much damage to me, what in the world would the actual boss do? The damage dealt, and the amount of action happening on your computer screen makes these bosses EXTREMELY difficult to defeat. They may as well have just left our HP at 1, as a single error in our play would be enough to take you down. We're humans, we're going to make mistakes, and these dungeons are not forgiving in the slightest.

Once again, this is the first MMORPG I've played where I cannot manage my own keyboard/skill keys
This is a pretty big turn off for me, as the keyboard I play on isn't the kind of traditional keyboard many people would have on stand computers. I'm not comfortable with the skills that require Left Click+Right Click to be hit simultaneously. As a primarily Hades player, if this command isn't hit properly, you may Elegant Dodge into an unfavorable position, which has lead to my demise a few times. Secondly, I dont like how sidekicks are forced onto F1~4. I would like to move those around as well but....unfortunately I cannot >.>

There are more problems I have but....I'm sure theyve been said already
